CAM NEWBY

Cam was born and raised in Oklahoma City, but always knew he would wind up in Nashville. At a young age, Cam would sit in the back of his brother-in-law’s Bronco and memorize every song from whatever burned CD was playing at the time. He fell in love with the way Mark Chesnutt told a story, the way Tracy Lawrence sounded like no one else, and the way James Taylor only needed an acoustic guitar to make you feel more emotion than an entire band. As he got older, he found his way through everything from Red Dirt Country to 80s Pop and realized that making music was the only thing he cared to be good at for the rest of his life. 

 

When he turned 18, he drove his Grand Cherokee Laredo to Nashville and never looked back. Cam graduated from Belmont University and immediately got to work writing songs. Over the years, he’s had the opportunity to watch and learn from some of his heroes, and now some of those heroes have turned into his closest collaborators and friends. In 2023, Cam signed a joint-venture publishing deal with Sea Gayle Music Publishing and Magnolia Sky Music Group. With a handful of cuts already under his belt, and more on the way, Cam is looking to make an impact in country music for years to come.
