CHRIS DUBOIS

Chris DuBois is an award-winning songwriter and music publisher based in Nashville, Tennessee. A native of Stillwater, Oklahoma, DuBois has been a defining force in country music. After beginning his career at ASCAP as Nashville Director of Membership, he co-founded Sea Gayle Music in 1999 alongside Brad Paisley and Frank Rogers. Under his leadership, Sea Gayle has grown into one of the most successful independent publishing companies in music, earning the prestigious ASCAP Country Publisher of the Year award in both 2010 and 2011.

As a songwriter, DuBois has penned over 30 Top 20 hits, including 17 No. 1 singles, earning him more than 30 ASCAP Awards. He was named ASCAP Country Songwriter of the Year in 2004 and was honored as NSAI Songwriter of the Year in both 2010 and 2011.

Beyond songwriting, DuBois is an influential producer and music executive. He began producing for Brad Paisley in 2005 with the award-winning album Time Well Wasted, and has since served as executive producer on a series of Paisley’s acclaimed albums, including 5th Gear, American Saturday Night, This is Country Music, Wheelhouse, and Moonshine in the Trunk. He also co-produced Chris Janson’s breakout debut album for Warner Bros. and the hit single “Fix a Drink” from Janson’s Everybody album.

In 2009, DuBois expanded Sea Gayle's footprint by launching Sea Gayle Records in partnership with Sony Music Nashville, further cementing his reputation as a visionary in the country music industry.
